Uploading and publishing pages

Publishing ready-made HTML pages without the theme with JustNow PageDrop, and changing their links without editing code.

What is PageDrop?

JustNow PageDrop publishes a ready-made HTML landing page on WordPress exactly as designed. The page is shown full screen, without your theme's header, footer and styles. PageDrop lists the links in the page and lets you change them without editing the file. It is free.

Installation

  1. Download JustNow PageDrop and install and activate it with Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. PageDrop appears in the left menu (right below Pages). A Pages → Add with PageDrop shortcut is added as well.

Requires WordPress 6.5 and PHP 7.4 or later. Only administrators can upload pages.

Uploading a page

  1. Open PageDrop → Upload new page.
  2. Drop your HTML file on the box or click to choose it (up to 16 MB). Full HTML documents and fragments both work.
  3. When the upload finishes, the links screen opens.
Images and stylesOnly the HTML file is uploaded. Images, styles and scripts must be embedded in the file or use full https:// addresses. Relative paths such as img/logo.png do not load on the site; PageDrop shows them on the card with a “files will not load” warning.

PageDrop lists every link in the page once, however many times it appears. Each row shows the button text, the link type (website, this site, email, phone, file) and the original address.

  • The address you type in New address is used everywhere that link appears in the page. Leave it empty to keep the original.
  • Placeholders without an address yet (e.g. BUY_URL, JN_PRO_URL) are listed first as Needs an address.
  • Use the search box to filter links by button text or address.
  • Changes go live as soon as you click Save links; you do not need to upload the file again.

In-page links (#section) and javascript: links are not listed.

Publishing

  1. On PageDrop → My pages, click Publish as page on the card. A draft WordPress page is created and its editor opens.
  2. Adjust the title, permalink (slug) and parent page if needed, then click Publish.

You can also use an existing page: while editing it, choose the design in the JustNow PageDrop box on the right. Choose No (normal page) in the same box to return to the normal content.

PageDrop pages carry a PageDrop label in the Pages list. Your SEO plugin's title and description, analytics and the admin bar keep working on these pages.

Updating a page

Upload the new version with Replace file on the card. Every WordPress page that shows the design updates at once. Your changes are kept for links that are still in the new file.

Content width

On PageDrop → Settings, choose how wide text and cards may grow: Original, Normal (1140 px), Wide (1400 px), Extra wide (1680 px) or Full screen. Backgrounds always fill the screen. Each page can override this in its PageDrop box.

PageDrop finds the page's own fixed-width, centred content container (e.g. .container{max-width:1140px;margin:0 auto}) and applies the width to it. If there is no such container, the setting has no effect.

Other plugins

So that your design looks exactly as uploaded, PageDrop pages hide what the theme and other plugins add to the page (compare bars, cart pop-ups, chat bubbles…) and their styles. WordPress core, SEO tags, Site Kit and the admin bar keep working.

If a plugin should keep working (e.g. a cookie banner), add its folder name to PageDrop → Settings → Plugins that stay active on PageDrop pages, separated with commas. The folder name is the part after /wp-content/plugins/ in the plugin's address.

Troubleshooting

  • The theme's menu shows on the page: check that a design is selected in the page's PageDrop box, and clear your cache.
  • Images do not show: see the “files will not load” warning on the card; embed the images or use full addresses.
  • A button goes to "#": that link has no address yet; fill it in on the links screen.
  • A plugin's bar disappeared: add that plugin to the list in Settings.
  • I uninstalled the plugin: settings and page assignments are removed; HTML files stay in wp-content/uploads/pagedrop/.
